There are lot of applications available which can retrieve windows product key from registry. May be you cant to delete product key from registry so nobody can extract key from registry using any third party software and use it somewhere else.

You are lucky, You can remove product key from registry. Microsoft allows you to delete it without deactivating your active windows. You can easily clear the product key by executing a simple command. You don’t have to search in deep registry.

Use following given steps to remove product key from the registry.

Step 1: Go to start and then run, type cmd and click ok or in the start menu search box type cmd and press Ctrl + Shift +Enter keys to open the Command Prompt as Administrator.

Step 2: Type below mentioned command and press enter to clear windows product key from registry.

slmgr.vbs /cpky

After entering command please wait for confirmation message “Product key from registry cleared successfully”. After this message you need to restart you computer to take effect.
