The Oldest-Popular Arcade Game Frogger Is Now Available For PC

Frogger is an arcade action game released in 1981 by Konami Digital Entertainment. It may be an old game but still gives a nostalgic feeling of retro gaming in the present time.

In this post, I’m going to shed light on its gameplay and how you can install and enjoy Frogger on PC (Windows and Mac). I’ve also added a few alternatives to this game that have similar gameplay.

Let’s get started.

How to play Frogger?

Frogger represents top-down perspective in 3D polygonal graphics. In this game, over a hundred frogs are trapped in nine different stages waiting to be rescued.

In the first stage, there are five levels. Your frogs must navigate through several lanes and streams surviving logs, speeding cars, turtles, and alligators. You have to carefully guide all of your frogs avoiding all the obstacles.

Roadkill and being eaten by animals result in the loss of life. You must rescue almost five frogs and take them to their destination called frog homes to move to the next levels. After each level, the difficulty increases and you’ll get less time to guide them to safety.

Each time you take a step you get 10 points and rescuing them to safety gives you 50 points. Reaching before the given time gives you 20 points per second. Eating a fly and guiding a lady frog to home gives you 200 points each. 99,990 is the maximum high score that you can achieve.
